Five <strong>Lesser White-fronted Goose<\/strong> <em>Anser erythropus<\/em>, appeared during crane surveys at Akyatan G\u00f6l\u00fc, Adana on 24 Jan, making up the second sighting from the site. The <strong>Red-breasted Goose<\/strong> <em>Branta ruficollis <\/em>was also present at three sites, 2 at B\u00fcy\u00fck\u00e7ekmece G\u00f6l\u00fc, \u0130stanbul on 24 Jan, 1 at Kamil Abdu\u015f G\u00f6l\u00fc between 4-12 Feb, and a remarkably late one at Kuyucuk G\u00f6l\u00fc, Kars between 13-17 May. An adult <strong>Long-tailed Duck<\/strong> <em>Clangula hyemalis<\/em> gave good photo-shots at \u0130\u011fneada Harbour, between 28 Jan and 4 Feb. Another cold-weather waterfowl, <strong>Common Scoter<\/strong> <em>Melanitta nigra<\/em> was seen at two sites 20 km apart along the Black Sea coast in Istanbul, 2 at Karaburun on 28 Jan, and 3 at Kilyos on 17 Feb. Singles of <strong>Horned Grebe<\/strong> <em>Podiceps auritus<\/em> was in Istanbul, at B\u00fcy\u00fck\u00e7ekmece G\u00f6l\u00fc on 3 Feb and at Kamil Abdu\u015f G\u00f6l\u00fc, 12-19 Feb.<\/p>\n<p>A single<strong> Lesser Flamingo <\/strong><em>Phoeniconaias minor <\/em>was again At Kulu G\u00f6l\u00fc on 10 -30 Apr, accompanies with a possible hybrid. Far from known breeding sites, a single<strong> Grey-headed Swamphen<\/strong> <em>Porphyrio poliocephalus<\/em> was at Ek\u015fisu Sazl\u0131\u011f\u0131, Erzincan on 30 Apr. The <strong>Red-wattled Lapwing <\/strong><em>Vanellus indicus <\/em>was recorded Karkam\u0131\u015f on Euphrates on 19 May, making the westernmost appearance. A single <strong>Herring Gull<\/strong> <em>Larus argentatus<\/em> was recorded on Rize on 3 Jan, indicating a fairly regular occurrence at the Black Sea. A 3<sup>rd<\/sup> year <strong>Greater Black-backed Gull<\/strong> <em>Larus marinus<\/em> was recorded at K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck \u00c7ekmece G\u00f6l\u00fc, \u0130stanbul on 29 Jan. An adult <strong>Lesser Black-backed Gull<\/strong> <em>Larus fuscus<\/em> of race <em>intermedius<\/em> was observed at the Yellow-legged Gull colony at Oymap\u0131nar Baraj\u0131, Antalya. This is probably a long-staying individual previously seen in May 2014 and May 2015, and has a high potential to form pair with a local gull and produce hybrid offspring. Finally, a <strong>Long-tailed Jaeger<\/strong> <em>Stercorarius longicaudatus<\/em> fell into the observer\u2019s eye at Milleyha, Antakya on 12 Feb. A good count of 5 <strong>Pomarine Jaeger<\/strong> <em>Stercorarius pomarinus<\/em> off Erdemli, Mersin on 16 Jan indicate a regular wintering at the Mediterranean coast.<\/p>\n<p>Escaped <strong>White-eared Bulbuls<\/strong> <em>Pycnonotus leucotis<\/em> was recorded in Avc\u0131lar, \u0130stanbul on 26 Apr, which question the origin of the birds previously recorded on the Syrian border. <strong>Grasshopper Warbler<\/strong> <em>Locustella naevia<\/em> is rarely sighted away from the ringer\u2019s nets, one was at K\u00f6yce\u011fiz G\u00f6l\u00fc on 10 Apr. A <strong>Waxwing<\/strong> <em>Bombycilla garrulus<\/em> was seen at \u0130\u011fneada, K\u0131rklareli on 28 Jan. Searches for Cypriots at G\u00f6ksu Delta revealed a <strong>Cyprus Warbler<\/strong> on 18 Mar and <strong>Cyprus Wheatear <\/strong>25 Mar. A male <strong>Common Redstart<\/strong> <em>Phoenicurus phoenicurus<\/em> wintered at Suba\u015f\u0131, Antakya on 7 Jan. <strong>Common Mynah<\/strong> <em>Acridotheres tristis<\/em> may be regular in \u0130zmir, as at least three were present at Fuar during February.&nbsp; The 7<sup>th<\/sup> <strong>Blyth\u2019s Pipit<\/strong> <em>Anthus godlewskii<\/em> was photographed at Milleyha, previously known site at Hatay on 5 Feb.
